Italian garden at Wrest Park
Italian garden at Wrest Park
The formal garden with its colourful planting in geometrical beds was laid out by Earl de Grey when the present house was built in the 1830s, and has been restored to its original glory by English Heritage in 2011. A statue of Pomona, the classical goddess of fruit, stands against the wall sheltering the kitchen garden beyond.
