Coombe Wood House from the gardens
Coombe Wood House from the gardens
Coombe Wood House was built in 1898 for Arthur Lloyd, brother of Frank Lloyd who gave his name to Lloyd Park. Together with its garden it was purchased from Mr W Cash of the Croydon Gas Company for 14,000, and the garden was first opened to the public in 1948. After 1948, Coombe Wood House was firstly a convalescent home, then a children's home and is now a restaurant.
