St Cuthbert's church
St Cuthbert's church
Darlington town centre. There has been a church on this site since AD1180, established by Bishop Hugh de Puiset (see LinkExternal link ). It took on its present form after numerous modifications and additions, the low crossing tower being heightened to accommodate a belfry and a spire added, in the early 14th century.
