NZ2325 : Victoria Street, New Shildon For a picture of this street in the 1970s see
http://www.tomorrows-history.com/Items/OriginalIE/ItemDU0502400001.htm Close to the end of this street is the house where Shildon's most famous son, Timothy Hackworth, lived. It is now a museum to one of the greatest railway engineers that ever lived; not only did he build locomotives 'sans pareil' in Britain, he built the first locos for Canada and other overseas territories. A photo for GEOGRAPH from someone please!
