The Trawden Arms (formerly the Rock Hotel) was built in 1895 on the site of a corn mill which had stood there since the 16th century. The licence was transferred from the Black Rock which stood at the bottom of Rock Lane LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) .
