Western portal of the Spittal road tunnel
This amazing old redbrick tunnel carries the road under the mighty rail embankment. A bit hairy to walk through, with cars passing from both directions, (a little faster than perfect good sense may dictate) and lit even in broad daylight in summer to aid visibility.
