The former railway station building at Pateley Bridge (2)
This is the North Eastern Railway (NER) station opened to traffic in 1862. Passenger traffic stopped in 1951 and to freight in 1964. This is a view of the station entrance side - the trains would have been on the other side - see my other picture SE1565 : The former railway station building at Pateley Bridge (1). The stepped gables typical of the NER are very distinctive.

The building has been converted into old people's accommodation.
