Shipwreck at Castle Zawn
Shipwreck at Castle Zawn
Shipwrecks have been a continuous feature of this coastline, something over 200 in this section from Sennen Cove to Porthgwarra alone.

This is the wreck of the RMS Mülheim, 1,846 tons, which ran aground here in the early hours of 22nd March 2003 when travelling from Cork to Lübeck with a cargo of scrap car parts. The six Polish crew members were rescued by a helicopter from RNAS Culdrose. The ensuing salvage operation, which involved a considerable amount of waste plastic, became the subject of national debate. More details here LinkExternal link and LinkExternal link
