taken 7 years ago, near to Sandsend, North Yorkshire, Great Britain

The sea at Sandsend
The sea at Sandsend
The sea was a little too rough for bathers, but the receding tide had encouraged a few walkers to head towards Whitby. The Whitby to Middlesbrough railway, which was opened on 3rd December 1883. ran along here. High maintenance costs forced closure on 5th May 1958.
The headland is known as Sandsend Ness.
