TM4764 : Tank traps, Sizewell beach

taken 7 years ago, near to Sizewell, Suffolk, Great Britain

Tank traps, Sizewell beach
Tank traps, Sizewell beach
A left-over of World War Two, these tank trap blocks are surviving well. The North Sea is just over that final ridge.

It is a mystery to me why they built a defensive system to stop tanks running along the beach - surely they needed to stop the tanks heading inland?
