Memorial Hall, Market Place
A grade II listed tollbooth of 2 storeys plus basement, now known as the Memorial Hall, dated mid C18, partly rebuilt after a fire in 1872. Constructed in hammer-dressed sandstone with giant rusticated pilasters, and raised bands above and below 2nd storey, and a slate roof with brick end stacks. Central double doors recessed into segmental-headed arch. Square turret at centre of roof ridge, with a pagoda top. In left gable wall is a panelled double door with an oriel staircase window above.
