Clear felling, New Wood
This parcel of New Wood, adjacent to the main north-south ride, has been clear felled within the past couple of years.
Prince's Coverts :: TQ1459

Prince's Coverts are 349 ha of coniferous and deciduous forestry owned by the Crown Estate, and located east of Oxshott village. The Coverts are named after Prince Leopold of Belgium, who lived at Claremont Park in Esher: the Claremont Estate was purchased by the Crown Estate on his marriage to Princess Charlotte.
The Coverts are open to the public, although visitors are expected to acquire a key for the gates, which are sometimes locked. A permit is also available (at some considerable cost) for horse riders.
