As noted on the plaque, this bridge was opened on 20th July 2011 by Norman Baker MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Transport. It is for cyclists and pedestrians, linking Exeter Science Park and cycle paths east of Exeter with the city. The view of the bridge before it was opened is in SX9693 : New cyclepath bridge over M5
