Unusual working at Peterborough
Unusual working at Peterborough
A class 37 diesel like this would once have been a common sight but now they are getting rarer. Passengers on the platform were warned of an "empty coaching stock working" passing through - a familiar term to railway enthusiasts but perhaps not to the travelling public. It was not quite correct, as the loco was hauling a driving trailer car from an East Coast set.
Peterborough Station
Peterborough Station is a major interchange on the East Coast Main Line. It opened in 1850 and was refurbished in 2004.
