St. Alban the Martyr, Holborn
The original structure, built in 1863 by William Butterfield, was largely destroyed in 1941 by the German blitz. After the war, Adrian Gilbert Scott was asked to produce a new, more economical design, incorporating those features of the old building that had survived. The present building was consecrated in 1961.
