Ten Hatches Weir
Ten Hatches Weir
The River Frome splits into two branches at this point. There used to be ten sluice gates at this point, five on each branch of the river. Now, these are the only five that remain on the northern branch of the river. The weir is mentioned in Thomas Hardy's poem The Curates Kindness SY6990 : Thomas Hardy Locations, Ten Hatches Weir
