Whitley Bay: the light in St. Mary’s lighthouse
In fact, this is not a working light, nor is it originally from this lighthouse. The light was decommissioned in 1984 and the light was taken from here to the National Lighthouse Museum in Penzance. This light was brought here from Withernsea lighthouse, which had closed a decade earlier.
