SU8596 : To the tea room

To the tea room
To the tea room
That's alright then. The sign also ensures that those people who are visiting Hughenden Manor and have explored the woodland this far away have a direct route back to the tea room along this public footpath and permitted bridleway. This is all part of the Hughenden estate and is known as the German Wood. Disraeli was impressed with the broad leaved woodland in the Black Forest in Germany and determined to have something similar on his own estate. They look like typical Chiltern beech woods to me.
