Glen Fender and Beinn a' Ghlo
Glen Fender and Beinn a' Ghlo
Looking up lime rich and fertile Glen Fender towards Carn Liath, one of the main tops of the sprawling Beinn a' Ghlo. Carn Liath has a notorious scar where the "path" up and down the hill runs. Quartzite gives little in the way of soil, so the heather slopes are only a thin covering of the brilliant white screes below. Once removed, the white line can be seen from miles - in this case from the Ochils in the very far south of Perthshire.
