Folkestone, Road of Remembrance
During the World War I tens and thousands of British Soldiers passed along this road on the way to the battlefields of Europe. Folkestone in Kent was one of the embarkation points for soldiers going to France.
Today in Folkestone at the top of the hill leading to the docks there is a plaque, commemorating the passing of the many men who went through the town and why that hill had been named Remembrance road.
