The ferry to Stromeferry across Loch Carron ceased operations in 1970 when the A890 road between Strathcarron and Stromeferry was completed. The slipway was put to use again for a short period in October 2008 when loose rocks had made local roads unsafe and alternative access was required whilst repairs were undertaken.
