Carnforth locomotive depot is the home of West Coast Railways. It was closed by BR in 1968, after the end of steam traction. Between 1969 and 1997 it was a museum and open to the public.
This photo shows the ash handling plant. The locomotives are BR Standard 70000 Britannia and LMS Black 5 5407.
