SE2263 : Outbuilding at Brimham Lodge

taken 7 years ago, 3 km from Summerbridge, North Yorkshire, Great Britain

Outbuilding at Brimham Lodge.
Outbuilding at Brimham Lodge.
Late C17 Grade II listed outbuilding which according to English Heritage was probably a bakehouse, built away from the main building because of the fire risk and often referred to as an "oven house" in C17 records. This view is of the upper storey, also remembered as a "schoolroom". The lower storey, see SE2263 : Outbuilding at Brimham Lodge is said to contain a blacksmith's hearth and intact bellows.
