Michelham Priory Watermill
Michelham Priory Watermill
Originally built in the early 15th C the mill has been restored twice in the last century. The most recent restoration was completed almost 8 years ago and was part Lottery funded. Volunteers undertook a lot of the work and the Mill is now operated by a team of enthusiastic volunteer staff who are justly proud of the fine flour they produce from organic grain. They are a bit short of water due to the dry summer (2011) but still managed to demonstrate the machinery in action. Water is drawn from the moat.
