Cliveden, war memorial garden
Cliveden, war memorial garden
This is a very peaceful part of the grounds, rarely visited. There are memorials here to about 45 men and women who, in World War One, died in the nearby Canadian Red Cross Hospital at Taplow, which was in the Cliveden grounds. Thus many of these people are of Canadian birth or had emigrated there before the war. LinkExternal link

Previously this was an Italian garden, part of the design of the grounds during the Astor period.
