ND4798 : Burray: Churchill Barrier No.3

taken 10 years ago, near to Northtown, Orkney Islands, Great Britain

Burray: Churchill Barrier No.3
Burray: Churchill Barrier No.3
Looking across to the third (counting southwards) of the four barriers erected during the Second World War to scupper enemy invasion of Scapa Flow. The house in the foreground obscures the blockship also placed for the same purpose, making it look almost as if the house has a very weird roof.
