Shared use path at Queen Elizabeth Island roundabout, Selly Oak New Road
The roads leading to this roundabout, part of the Selly Oak New Road scheme have segregated shared use paths alongside. For reasons that are not quite clear, the engineers have ditched the delineating white lines and put in a narrower shared section, with sheet piling alongside to hold back the embankment. Bearing in mind that this is a brand new road, it's not clear why, other than the pedestrian and cycle facilities being a lazy afterthought.
