Shared use cycle path alongside Aston Webb Boulevard (Selly Oak New Road, Phase 1)
Things start to get interesting for cyclists at a pedestrian crossing, where the cycle path is obstructed by poles. Supposedly two way cycle traffic is allowed, but you would never get two bikes passing in that gap. Any pedestrian awaiting to cross would normally stand right in line with the cycle path side. Note that where there is a white line cyclists must stay on that side of the path (although pedestrians can wander where they want).
This road was only built a year or so earlier, but the cycle facilities feel like an afterthought.
