St James' church was threatened by the Stocks Reservoir, which was built in 1932, so it was demolished stone by stone at its original location (GR SD73215653) and then re-built here. Changes were made to the design, and it is now smaller than the original, but it seems that the porch was kept as it was originally. For some old photos see:
