Designed by Lanyon, completed in 1850 and remodelled by Young and Mackenzie in 1905, the portico remains as a tribute to Lanyon. The statue of Justice is by Joseph Kirk. Closed in 1998 and seriously damaged by fire in August 2009, the building is in a very sorry state.
