Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council posted a planning site notice on a tree along the lane on 09.06.2011. The application by Jack Moody Ltd was for change of use from a quarry to open windrow composting of organic material. Presumably the application was granted. Guessing, perimeter drainage has yet to be constructed although there is already a sump out of shot right.
This must be the approximate location of SP2280 : Berkswell Quarry being worked, Simon Jobson's photo of six years ago. In that time the sand and gravel has been extracted, the pit has been flooded (according to OS maps) and since filled in to become the site of this development.
