Destroyer at Portsmouth, 1985
Royal Navy destroyer 'D88' tied up close to the Signals Station at Portsmouth harbour. View taken from the ferry pontoon. Richard Hoare has kindly added the following information: "This is almost certainly HMS Glasgow a Type 42 destroyer. She fought during the Falklands War, and on 12 May 1982 was damaged by bombs from Argentine A-4 Skyhawks. Glasgow operated as a part of a peacekeeping taskforce in 1999, and was deployed on the Atlantic Patrol South tasking in 2004. The destroyer was decommissioned in 2005, and was broken up for scrap in 2009."
