Documentary evidence shows that Trebolence Mine dated from 1510. Stephen Polglase's excellent history "The book of Breage and Germoe: the heart of the Godolphin tin dynasty" explains that the engine housed here ran a pump 100m away, as well as the stamps and dressing plant.
