Chwarel Lechi Hendre-ddu Slate Quarry
Hendre-ddu Quarry, also known as Prince Llywelyn Quarry, like all the Cwm Pennant quarries had a mixed fortune. Developed with vigour in the 1860s, its owners over reached themselves and were bankrupt by 1872. Reopened in 1873, its reservoir collapsed in 1875, but it managed to survive until 1880. Its peak time workforce numbered around 60.
