Burn of Skaw empties into the sea
The peat-laden Burn of Skaw is seen here entering the sea at the Wick of Skaw. The road to the Haa at Skaw is the northernmost public road in the British Isles, though the former military road beyond Saxa Vord to the masts near Leera Stack is more northerly, but is not accessible; the main Saxa Vord station (which can be driven to along the old military road) is about level with Skaw.
