SP6737 : Stowe Park, Gothic Temple

taken 7 years ago, near to Dadford, Buckinghamshire, Great Britain

Stowe Park, Gothic Temple
Stowe Park, Gothic Temple
Designed by Gibbs in 1741 but not completed until 1748. It has three unusual properties. Firstly that it is triangular and also that it is built from Northamptonshire ironstone instead of the limestone of many of the other buildings at Stowe. It is now owned by the Landmark Trust and is available to rent as a holiday cottage, the third unusual thing about the building.
