Rottendown Hill Plantation
Rottendown Hill Plantation
The way this lane hugs the contours of the Streatley Hills makes one believe in its antiquity. Up on the crest amongst the trees is Grim's Ditch, an ancient earthwork, but the plantation itself is no 'spring chicken'. It contains many venerable yew trees and given their propensity for great age, it's not impossible that their progenitors saw the ditch being dug! See: LinkExternal link
