NS9287 : The Forth

taken 13 years ago, near to Kincardine, Fife, Scotland

The Forth
The Forth
View over the Forth Estuary from King's Seat Hill. The Kincardine bridges can be seen along with flats in Falkirk and the reservoir of Gartmore Dam. The low lying ground contrasts with the steep Ochil scarp.
The plain on the Fife / Clackmannan side of the river is sparsely populated, the soils are very sandy, of low fertility and the land heavily forested.
