Permissive footpath notice
There are some points of interest regarding the map. The note at the top makes it clear that the permissive path specifically links to the three east-west public rights of way to provide a number of circular walk possibilities. Of the paths, the middle on is the most interesting. As can be seen, it stops in the middle of nowhere, at the parish boundary, and is shown as crossing the middle of fields. At the point where it is shown as meeting the new permissive footpath, there is no sign of it in either direction Link , Link. In practice it is clear that walkers follow the field boundary running parallel and a bit to the north of the path. Also, the southern portion of the permissive path has not been maintained on the ground Link with the preferred alignment clearly being alongside the watercourse at the northern margin of the field. The diagonal alignment of the existing right of way is however maintained Link.
