Hopetoun Crescent Garden
What for years seemed more or less neglected waste ground has been transformed into a pleasant garden thanks to the private initiative of local residents. It occupies the site of Edinburgh's botanic garden before it moved to Inverleith in about the 1820s. In the 1760s it had replaced the old Physic Garden on the site now occupied by Waverley Station. The cottage that was built for the use of the gardeners has been carefully dismantled and plans are afoot to re-erect it in the modern Botanics. LinkExternal link
