Salen New Pier
Salen New Pier
The "new" pier at Salen was built in 1905 and operated as one of the calling points for the ferry from Oban until 1964 when the Roro ferry to Craignure was inaugurated. Since then the pier has languished little-used, although there is currently a programme of renovation in progress.

The shore opposite is Morvern on the far side of the Sound of Mull.
