Stane Wall
Stane Wall
This wall is unusual in that it is made up of very large and small pieces of granite rather than sized pieces of stone. The wall marks the end of the visible evidence of a railway cutting on the former Wigtownshire Railway. The cutting itself is made up of large sections of granite and is the likely source for this wall. The size of some of the stones in the wall suggest that the construction of it must have been at least a two person job.
