Edgbaston Cricket Ground: view from the new pavilion
The immense £30m pavilion at the southern end of the ground opened in time for the 2011 Test Match. For an idea of it, see SP0684 : Edgbaston Cricket Ground: the new Pavilion. A few weeks later Warwickshire, in pursuit of the County Championship, beat the 2010 Champions, Nottinghamshire, by an innings and 114 runs. On the second afternoon Warwickshire were well on the way to an immense first innings score of 574-7 declared as Tim Ambrose clipped Andre Adams through mid wicket for four - a weary chase for Notts' Luke Fletcher (No 19, with his back to the camera). The R E S Wyatt stand is on the opposite side of the ground and the towers of the city centre on the skyline.
