Twisted yew roots in Boxley Warren
Twisted yew roots in Boxley Warren
Boxley Warren, on the slope of the North Downs, has internationally rare yew woodland. This is an ancient trackway, probably from before the Norman Conquest, with a bank on either side and the track in between. It leads from the Pilgrim's Way up the hill to the North Downs Way. A mass of twisted yew roots covers the bank on the west side.
