St Abbs Lifeboat Station
The St Abbs lifeboat station was founded after the tragic loss of nineteen lives on the SS Alfred Erlandsen on 17th October 1907. The vessel was lost on the treacherous rocks located only a few hundred yards from the shore. The present station was opened in 1911 and it now operates an inshore B class Atlantic 75 lifeboat.
