Somewhere on this flat expanse is the small cairn which marks the point generally accepted as the highest point of this dull Wainwright. As he says, "precious holiday hours should not be wasted here" - but as he devotes a chapter to the hill, those many walkers who wish to visit every Wainwright have to do so!
The small rock in the foreground may be the only natural rock to be found on the whole plateau.
