Excellent advice here. The track crosses what must once have been part of either Loch Kinord or Loch Davan, but which is gradually being reclaimed as land by the vegetation. Wandering off it would be a good way of looking for trouble; at the very least you would get your feet very wet, and who knows how deep the bog is.
