TA2570 : Cliff edge south of High Stacks

taken 8 years ago, 3 km from Flamborough, East Riding of Yorkshire, Great Britain

Cliff edge south of High Stacks
Cliff edge south of High Stacks
Along the edge of the steep, 120' cliffs just south of High Stacks.
The waves just off the point appear to be breaking over a shallow beach, but although there's a wave-cut platform near the cliffs, their behaviour appeared to be more influenced by a combination of tide-rip, prevailing swell and a stiff breeze in the opposite direction to the swell - the same effect was happening a good half-mile offshore too.
