View northward, beside the Locomotive Yard which was at the north end of the Station. This is one of the survivors of the 272 Worsdell Class Y14 'Maids of all Work' dating from 1883: No. 5391 (former LNER No. 7888) has an 'E' prefix, also a tender-cab, when seen in 1949) was built in 10/1890 and lasted until 12/58. Cambridge was a good place to see ancient locomotives - the scene was little changed since the 19th century - see also TL4657 : Cambridge Locomotive Depot, with a 'Super-Claud' 4-4-0 etc.
