HU4015 : The Broch of Dalsetter

taken 8 years ago, near to Boddam, Shetland Islands, Great Britain

The Broch of Dalsetter
The Broch of Dalsetter
Whilst the mound, ramparts, ditch and small cells are quite interesting, much of the upper structure, for which brochs are justifiably famous, has been robbed out.
Note here, the much later ruins of byres, barns and perhaps dwellings have been constructed from the original stone. Nearby are hundreds of metres of well built walls.
